Family-Centered and Women-Owned

Transformed by the beautiful connection to nature and the outdoor lifestyle of Hawaii while on a family trip, we are a mother-daughter team who created Ohana SUP & Fitness in Clearwater, Florida, to share our lifelong love for fitness, health, and wellbeing.

We chose the Hawaiian word ohana for our business, which means family. It felt like the perfect fit for our connection to each other, the community, and the earth.

From One Ohana To Another – Aloha!

“I started working with Daff a few months after my back surgery. It had left me extremely weak and I pretty much had to start from scratch on my health and exercise journey. She was very patient and extremely knowledgeable in what exercises were best for me in my recovery. Three years later, I am stronger and healthier than I have been in years. She truly cares and is the best trainer I have ever had!”

Fitness & Paddleboarding FAQs

I’ve never paddleboarded before. What’s my first lesson going to be like?2023-01-18T20:47:16+00:00

Don’t worry! We love introducing beginners to SUP. We will teach you how to get geared up, basic SUP paddling techniques, and tips and tricks.

At your first session, you will learn how to:
• Stand up on the board
• Stay balanced
• Fall safely and get back on
• How to hold a SUP paddle and use different kinds of SUP strokes

For experienced SUP paddleboarders, we’ll teach you more advanced things like how to turn. Keep in mind – even experienced SUP paddlers fall into the ocean. Water is a part of this fun activity!

Pro Tip: If you get worried you’ll fall, bend your knees, squat, or drop onto your knees for stability.

What if I’m not a good swimmer?2023-01-18T20:54:00+00:00

That’s ok! We have a personal flotation device for you and will teach you with this in mind. Just let us know.

Do I really need a personal trainer?2023-01-24T16:29:12+00:00

Are your workouts giving you results? Are you at the weight you need to be? Are you experiencing issues with physical pain related to fitness?

If any of these answers is yes, then a personal trainer is ideal for you. We have dedicated ourselves to helping clients use their bodies in a way that benefits them and nurtures their well-being. We are certified fitness professionals who know how to help you and love doing it. If you are not achieving the results you want, we are the answer to getting you there.

Is paddleboarding safe?2023-01-24T16:29:36+00:00

Absolutely. We will show you the ropes, teach you proper ocean-sharing etiquette, and guide you through the learning process. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time. Shake the water off, get back up on your board, and paddle on!

What are the age requirements? Can my kids join?2023-01-18T20:55:05+00:00

You bet they can! We consider this a family-friendly activity. We will fit kids with a personal flotation device. Kudos for getting your family involved in outdoor fitness from a young age, so they grow up connected with nature and having fitness as a part of their lifestyle.

We also have mature adults who want to try paddleboarding, too. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know so we can guide you.

What if I’m not in good shape?2023-01-18T20:55:17+00:00

There’s never a better time to start. Our one-on-one classes and personal training give you individual attention and any privacy you may need. In fact, we specialize in medical fitness – it’s one of our passions to help people get in shape, improve their health, and reduce their medical risks.

What should I wear to my first lesson?2023-01-18T20:55:34+00:00

You’ll want reef-safe sunscreen or sunblock, and you may want a hat. A long-sleeved rash guard with sun protection is a good idea over a swimsuit or board shorts.

Pro Tip: Be sure whatever you wear is ok to get wet in the ocean.
